SUMMARY

The talent acquisition manager will be focused on creating a positive candidate experience from start to finish as a means to cultivate talent pipelines and hire team members who will amplify business performance and enrich company culture. The talent acquisition manager will be responsible for internal and external recruiting, staffing, and diversity strategies for exempt and professional non-exempt team members across the organization. He/she will work with the PDSN (direct sales network) to create strategies for sales talent pipeline development, lend expertise to Operations on factory-hourly hiring as requested, lead the development and execution of the talent acquisition pipeline strategy, comprehensive sourcing, talent assessment, and overall recruiting process.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES for the talent acquisition manger include:

  • Develops and implements corporate talent acquisition strategy in alignment with the corporate business strategy.

  • Oversees open position metrics and tracking for active open requisitions across the business.

  • Recruits, screens, and interviews candidates for open position.

  • Owns exempt / professional non-exempt recruiting processes. Implements programs, plans, policies, and procedures for recruitment, testing, selection, and hiring.

  • Develops and maintains strategic relationships with educational institutions, employment agencies, placement firms, and other sources of applicants.

  • Manages the immigration processes.

  • Provides recruiting training sessions to empower our team members to all be recruiters for Pella.

  • Works with communications and marketing to align brand messages across recruiting channels, especially as it relates to job fairs and college campuses. Continually builds the brand within recruiting venues.

  • Plays a key role in the corporate diversity strategy. May lead the corporate steering team and ensures recruiting strategies support diversity objectives.

  • Develops and executes the technology strategy for attracting and recruiting candidates, including applicant tracking systems and social media strategies.

  • Leads and supports campus recruiting efforts.

  • Executes vendor management practices.

  • Plans and directs activities of staff in carrying out such functions as developing sources of qualified applicants, screening applicants, scheduling and conducting interviews, administering assessments, checking references and background, and evaluating applicant qualifications.  

  • Analyzes metrics on recruitment activities, applicant flow, interviews, hires, transfers, promotions, and separations.

  • Analyzes statistical reports and other data to monitor applicant flow, selection, turnover, and team member demographics for compliance with legal regulations and with organization goals and policies.

ESSENTIAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS for the talent acquisition manger include:

  • Directly supervising three corporate recruiting team members.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or university; and five years related experience and/or training. 

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Recruiting certifications and/or SHRM certification (PHR, SPHR or SHRM-CP) helpful, but not required.

  • Experience with ATS and CRM systems required. Taleo experience preferred.

  • Preferred mix of both Corporate and Agency recruiting experience.

  • Ability to travel 15 – 25 percent of the time; with heavy travel (50-75%) of time during career fair season.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.  Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.  Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
