QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A./B.S.) from four-year college or university; five years of experience and/or training in communications. Knowledge of AP style; strong news judgment and editing ability. Basic experience with Graphic Design and User Experience (UX) principles. Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills. Experience with and proficiency with applications such as Office 365 and Adobe Creative Suite. 

  • Experience writing for an online audience, can work efficiently in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment, excellent organizational and project management skills, excellent creative and visual skills, proficiency with digital photography, videography and related digital tools, an interest in innovation and industry trends in digital news, knowledge of UX principles to achieve functional and attractive digital experiences. 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Ability to read, proof, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulationsAbility to write reports, articles, and business correspondence.   Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, team members, and the general public. 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to create and manage budgets and understand fundamentals of basic mathematical concepts such as discounts, statistical inference, interest, and a working knowledge of algebra and geometry. 

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.   

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Microsoft 365 products, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop), and working knowledge of Intranet.

  • None required.
