Role Summary
Responsible for developing and executing customer-focused strategies, sales processes, and programs that support PDSN Retail growth and profitability objectives. This individual will identify and target defined segment opportunities for growth while driving process efficiency and customer satisfaction. Acts as a change agent for the organization and the PDSN and will drive measurable improvement in retail sales performance through the PDSN. Programs may require significant development and departures from existing practices. This person is considered a retail subject matter expert in the organization.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Contributes to the strategic planning, forecasting and budgeting process and executes initiatives necessary to support growth, profitability and customer satisfaction in the PDSN retail segment of the business.
  • Manages and maintains accountability of the Retail Sales Manager Playbook.
  • Ownership of the selling process through the PDSN. This position is responsible for enhancing the sales process, managing critical sales programs, creating necessary process and training tools, sales performance metrics and championing the integrated systems needed to maximize results.
  • Responsible to drive the development and execution of the transformational business programs used to drive engagement with retail professionals leading to an increased preference for Pella products.
  • Will partner cross functionally with the Product Marketing, Merchandising, Corporate Marketing, IT, and Training teams on projects and selling process improvements. This position also works closely with the Sales Directors, Regional Business Managers and Regional Business Specialists to accelerate or change sales performance.
  • This position monitors branch selling process metrics and partners with the regional field teams to improve the associated selling processes when needed.
  • Develops and implements the documents and tools needed for the retail selling processes.


Travel Expectations
50%+ travel should be expected.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. A./B. S.) from four-year college or university; and five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience selling in the Trade or Retail Replacement segment required.

Computer Skills
Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.

Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
