Summary
The company fleet driver is an over-the-road or short haul driver of tandem tractor and 53’ hi-cube tandem trailers.  Driving schedules will include day and night driving.  The lease driver must abide by all DOT regulations, and full-time drivers will average approximately 125,000 miles per calendar year.
 
Essential duties and responsibilities of the company fleet driver include the following, but are not limited to:
  • Deliver Pella products via tandem tractor/trailer as scheduled by the Corporate Logistics
  • Pick up and deliver items from vendors on an as-needed/scheduled basis
  • Clean and maintain tractor/trailer on an as-need/scheduled basis
  • Complete expense reports and maintain logs in accordance with specified guidelines
  • Have neat and clean appearance at all times
  • Attend all required safety meetings.

Job qualifications for the company fleet driver include, but are not limited to:
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Minimum of five years experience of over-the-road driving of tandem tractor/trailer, including backing equipment into alleys and docks 
  • Must have expert knowledge of city driving in large metropolitan areas 
  • Must have safe driving record 
  • Must be familiar with and abide by all DOT regulations
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence 
  • Basic computer skills desirable
  • Must have only one valid CDL license
  • Must have current Medical Examiner’s certificate
  • Must be willing to be away from home three to six days at a time
  • Driver must have a minimum of 500,000 miles driving experience with over the road tandem axle tractor and 53-foot trailer
  • Driver must have been an over the road driver within the past 6 months
  • Have no more than three recorded moving violations within a three-year period
  • Must know how to block, brace, and secure a load

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to outside weather conditions.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
