SUMMARY
The Carrier Coordinator executes all tasks related to daily communication with our carrier base to ensure all outbound/inbound planned and unplanned truckload movements are tendered and accepted for all shipments/shuttles from sites. Ensures trailer equipment is available and on time for loading, on-time pickup of the load by the carrier, and on-time delivery to the customer by the carrier. Demonstrates the ability to solve problems, has excellent verbal communication skills, has the ability to document and remain organized and promote carrier relationships. Excellent reasoning and problem-solving skills are required to ensure effective solution-based strategies for varying situations. The ability to identify and utilize continuous improvement techniques to support process improvement and deliver expected results is required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Communicates daily with contracted carriers to secure load procurement and find resolutions to all issues that may help a carrier more effectively execute a load. Communication will include phone call or email, if needed. Interaction with load planners to adjust the load plan will be required as needed.
- Communication with all Pella sites will be required to resolve any concerns and issues with a carrier.
- Responsible for tracking and documenting carrier performance for trailer availability, on time load pick up, and on time delivery.
- Responsible for relationship development with all carriers, to support and promote proactive communication.
- Work with Lead Carrier Coordinator to identify carrier performance issues and communicate opportunities to the Load Planning Manager as necessary.
- Knowledge of transportation and DOT regulations.
- Responsible for providing and supporting Corporate Logistics Managers with productivity projects and cost reduction initiatives, based on their view of the business.
- Help facilitate all inbound raw material shipments and develop round trips with outbound loads, supporting efficient, continuous moves.
- Works with the Private Fleet Dispatcher for efficient methods of utilization, as needed.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Up to one years’ related experience in Load Planning. Must be willing to learn various Load Planning and Corporate Logistics functions that support the duties of the Carrier Coordinator.
- Oracle Transportation Management experience
- SQL writing skills
