Who Is Pella Corporation?

Pella Corporation is one of the largest manufacturers of windows and doors in North America; as a leader in technology and product innovation, Pella has been awarded more than 150 product and design patents.  And the team at Pella is as committed as ever to continuing the company's proud heritage of building innovative windows and doors.

At Pella, we want to help you find what makes you an extraordinary team member. That’s why we offer individualized talent development plans, cross-functional experiences, and opportunities for career advancement through personal and professional development.

Our national brand is supported by 7,000+ team members at 17 manufacturing sites and 70+ sales branches across the country who are dedicated to serving our customers with Pella Passion — a way of being that inspires us to go above and beyond for each other, our customers, and our communities. Pella Passion has guided our actions for 95 years and will carry us forward as we capture the rare blend of inspired design and exceptional detail in our work and our lives.

Design and user experience (UX) are at the forefront of everything we do. The role of the UX Designer is to envision how people experience our products and bring that vision to life in a way that feels inspired, refined, and engaging. In a UX Designer Intern role, you will assist the Senior User Experience Designer addressing complex tasks and transforming them into intuitive, accessible and easy-to-use solutions for millions of customers around the country—from the first-time user to the sophisticated expert. Achieving this goal requires collaboration with teams of Marketing Creatives, Business Analysts, Content Strategists, Analytics Specialists, Web Developers, Engineers, Product Owners, Quality Assurance Technicians, and Project Managers.

We hire people with a broad set of skills who are ready to address some of Pella's greatest challenges and make an impact on millions of customers. At Pella, our team routinely works on large-scale applications and entirely new platforms to solve the unique challenges facing our industry today. From rebuilding our content management system and delivery platform to creating augmented reality solutions, the Pella Digital Marketing Communications team is changing the way consumers and professionals think about Pella Corporation.

The UX Design process at Pella includes researching user needs, creating user flows, basic wireframes, creating mockups, building prototypes, and designing solutions that adapt to all screen sizes, resolutions, and environments. At each stage, you will advocate for our users and ensure that their experience exceeds expectations. We are looking for a great teammate with superb communication, negotiation and presentation skills.

  • Ability and passion to understand distinct user groups quickly and distill complex needs into clean, understandable solutions.
  • Understanding of information architecture, design patterns, and interaction design.
  • Work as part of a cross-functional team, with users, product owners, business analysts, and development teams to deliver business value.
  • Ability to work independently, managing schedules in a dynamic, multi-project environment
  • Familiarity and ability to promote appropriate usability testing and user research endeavors
  • Familiarity with design and prototyping software, such as Sketch, Adobe XD, or equivalent.
