Job qualifications for this tax manager include the following:

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university; and minimum five years of tax experience.  A CPA is strongly preferred.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex tax laws, regulations and court cases, common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. 

  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. 

  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. 

  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

  • Proficient in Word, Excel and Power Point. Income tax software (ProSystems), Oracle and Hyperion, Sales tax software (Vertex).

  • CPA not required but preferred.
