Strategic National Installation Manager

This position is a highly visible role that provides thought leadership and business development with oversight for a new transformational national installation go to market strategy for Pella Corporation.  It will require thought leadership, deep retail, trade, commercial and national accounts business knowledge, strong business acumen and management oversight to create a profitable installation program for all segments.  This will fulfill a growing need resulting from a national labor shortage and create a competitive advantage.  This individual will be responsible for the identification, prioritization, and implementation of program capability, talent management, processes, tools, and metrics associated with creating and executing full project delivery for a new concept, Pella National Installation. 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Creation of Pella National Installation strategy, value proposition, and business model.
  • Lead and develop capabilities required to launch a program that attracts, develops, retains installers and provides unique installation services as part of a national program that simplifies the process for our customers and drives higher loyalty with Pella contractors.  
  • Lead the cross-functional collaboration with PASS, Sales, Marketing, IT, Finance, and other groups to build capability that delivers the value proposition.
  • Test and validate business models to determine highest profit streams for Pella and deliver the best installation experience for the consumer both B2C and B2B.
  • Rapidly prototype concept, deploy to market, iterate, and refine approach to win in marketplace.  Quickly follow with national scale.
  • Perform program leadership role
    • Determine capabilities necessary.
    • Determine installation staffing, development and retention methods.
    • Determine install progression potential – apprentice to business owner
    • Determine program activation plan – pricing, marketing, proof points
    • Ensure project is executed effectively and efficiently
    • Scope, time, learnings are captured to refine business model
    • Leadership and cross-functional communication
    • Manage Risk for project and key constituents
    • Resource management
  • Drive strategic program through corporate resources and field execution teams at branches.  Define success parameters
  • Manage installation programs and training teams to ensure effective execution of strategy through all channels and markets.
  • Extensive travel and in-market presence with contractors, PDSN owners, strategic partners.


Manage the Pella National Installation Program team which includes Install Program Managers and Install Trainers. Directly manage 1-5 team members and lead a cross-functional team.  Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit.   Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Other duties may be assigned.

Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year College or university; in business related field. Prefer MBA; and 7 or more years marketing and sales leadership experience, with 3-5 years in a field sales or operations leadership role.



Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.  Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.  Ability to communicate with all levels of management and employees.



Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.



Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.



Proficient in Excel, Power Point, Access, and Project Management systems.
