Position: Maintenance Technician 


We have a unique opportunity to join the Pella Corporation team in the Portland manufacturing facility.  We are looking for self-motivated individuals to work as part of a team performing multiple duties to support the production of aluminum window and door products.  This team member’s assigned team and tasks will vary based on business necessity. The Maintenance Technician will need to diagnose and repair all electrical and mechanical problems in the assigned area.  The ideal candidate will have experience working in a manufacturing environment, excellent communication skills, and a respectful, enthusiastic, positive attitude.



* Must be 18 years of age or older

* Flexibility of work hours including mandatory OT when business needs requires.

* Comply with safety, quality, and production requirements and procedures.

* Regular / dependable attendance consistent with attendance guidelines is required.

* Operate equipment / tools that require close control, adjustment, following production orders.

* Ability to meet physical requirements of the job.

* Perform Total Productive Maintenance duties.

* Maintain good housekeeping.

* Troubleshoot and repair all electrical and mechanical problems plant wide.

* Troubleshoot and repair sawdust collection, compressed air, oxidizer, bulk chemical storage, and electrical distribution systems.

* Perform scheduled job order work, preventative maintenance, and emergency repair.

* Must maintain a PIV license.



* Support and participate in Kaizen events and other activities

* Other duties may be assigned



* High school diploma or equivalency

* Manufacturing related experience is preferred

* Job specific experience is preferred



* Decision making / problem solving in a manufacturing environment with minimal supervision.

* Use of hand tools and machinery is required.

* Requires communication skills, and the cognitive ability to learn the safety, quality, and productivity standards.

* Learn, comprehend, and implement Lock Out / Tag Out and safety and quality procedures to assure the safe and proper operation of the equipment.

* Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s using units of American money.

* Familiarity with American units of measure for weight, time, and distance.

* Read and interpret blueprints.

* Use of measurement devices.

* Excellent computer knowledge.

* Accuracy and attention to detail.

* Proficient mechanical and math aptitude.

* Time management.

* Ability to work with internal and external customers.

* Flexibility to travel.

* Lift Truck License.
