This Maintenance & Reliability Engineer will be responsible for the leadership of the maintenance needs of the Portland, OR facility.  This individual will coordinate work within the scope of assigned projects to ensure objectives in terms of quality, cost, and time are met. Responsible for effective communication of maintenance information among team members and all stakeholders.

Essential job duties and responsibilities for this Maintenance & Reliability Engineer may include the following:

  • Coordinating the activities of the maintenance department functions in the assigned plant(s) to ensure customer service expectations are met with regards to production equipment reliability and availability. 
  • Managing maintenance activities to ensure that all personnel are utilized efficiently and effectively.
  • Managing monthly and annual budget and delivers on cost objectives.
  • Prepares project schedules and reviews cost estimates, compiles required cost and equipment information, and writes appropriation requests. 
  • Improving, updating, and modifying manufacturing processes and equipment to deliver safety, quality, customer service, and productivity objectives. 
  • Tracking and monitoring key project metrics to ensure short and long-term expectations are met.
  • Receiving and responding to direction from the Plant Engineering Team Leader and/or other members of the plant and corporate leadership teams.  

Supervisory responsibilities:

Directly supervises 10 technical employees.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and developing employees; directing work; appraising performance, and serving team member needs

Essential job qualification and requirements for this Maintenance & Reliability Engineer may include the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Math, or relevant Science and at least five years related technical and/or engineering experience.
  • Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) Preferred.
  • Ability to effectively present information, defend a position and address concerns is key to fostering collaboration.
  • Strong influential leadership skills are necessary when planning and implementing projects, improving processes as well as strategic initiatives.
  • Ability to work irregular shifts and some Saturdays as needed. Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. as needed.
  • Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Office applications, AutoCAD & CMMS required.  Microsoft Project preferred.
  • CI Team Leader certification is preferred
  • Ability to apply technical and functional expertise, manage and improve processes, foster collaboration, and drive execution
