The Financial Systems Manger is responsible for the integrity of the financial systems as well as the functionality of those systems. The Manager consistently exercises independent judgment when performing complex financial analysis. The Manager provides management with information for making key decisions. This person is responsible for providing financial expertise and leadership in managing and improving systems for Pella Corporation to include consolidation, allocation, and management reporting applications. This person will play a key role in planned systems transformation through upgrades of existing applications and/or implementation of new applications in support of strategic objectives. This individual will lead/participate in Business Process Management to design and deliver optimal solutions to evaluate financial performance.

They will have a high degree of involvement with Company personnel across all functions and all divisions at all levels in the corporation as well as have direct supervisory responsibilities for the Financial Systems Analyst. Close collaboration and partnership directly with the Hyperion Technical Analyst and other Information Technology support resources.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

Application / Process Management

 

* Primary owner of development, administration, upgrade, and process improvement projects and activities within the Hyperion Financial Management and Essbase applications.

* Manages the application change/implementation process across all corporate financial systems or financial modules within systems to ensure proper testing has been completed.

* Ensures business partners have received training when new applications/processes are implemented.

* Manages the corporate finance systems open projects lists and develops project plans and timelines for execution.

* Prioritizes and manages project backlog in alignment with strategic objectives.

* Plan and manage revisions to, enhancements of, or implementation of financial systems.

 

Application / Data / Process Expertise and Leadership

 

* Develops and maintains expertise related to Pella’s core financial systems with a specific focus on Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle Enterprise Performance Management, and related applications. Understands relationships between Oracle EBS finance modules, other EBS modules, and external systems.

* Functions as the primary data warehouse expert within the finance team. Acts as the finance liaison for data warehouse prioritization and change management. Maintains detailed knowledge of key mappings, views, data extracts, etc that are key to finance team processes, business metrics, and reporting.

* Develop informative and interactive financial reporting solutions and dashboards for functional managers and leadership.

* Partners with business personnel to maintain data that is used for reporting (i.e. calculated price, inflation, etc).

* Leverages system data for internal and external requests (i.e. audit, historic trends, business case requests, etc).

* Maintains integrity of Enterprise Performance Management data, calculations, and processes.

 

 

Productivity, Simplification and Governance

* Lead/Participate in Business Process Management to design and deliver optimal solutions to evaluate financial performance. Documents the business requirements and deliver functional designs of the process areas.

* Provides leadership in proactively seeking and identifying opportunities to leverage systems to support simplification efforts across all divisions of Pella Corporation.

* Identify opportunities to increase automation, streamline reporting practices, improve accuracy, and reduce the amount of time required to complete specific tasks.

* Drives consistency and repeatability of reporting and processes, including process documentation across all divisions of Pella Corporation.

* Assist in developing, implementing and monitoring internal controls for all finance systems.

* Identifies technology solutions to enable execution of organizational strategy and productivity initiatives.

 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Directly supervises the Financial Systems Analyst. In addition, indirectly works with other divisional and corporate finance staff to support system needs. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university in accounting or other finance related field or Information Systems; five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

COMPUTER SKILLS

To perform this job successfully an individual should have knowledge of the Oracle E-Business Suite and Enterprise Performance Management products. A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access is also required.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

CPA and/or CMA is desired.
