Executive Assistant (Corporate Sales)

Acts as an administrative assistant for the Vice President of Strategy for Lowe’s and Sales Subs.  Supports leadership team as appropriate.  Works under minimum supervision and performs a variety of administrative duties, including handling of confidential information, utilization of various computer software systems, making visual and written support for presentations, composing assigned letters, responsibility for calendar/daily planning, organizing and maintaining files for Executive.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


Coordinates administrative resources for the department.


Arranges and administers appointments and meetings for the Vice President of Strategy for Lowe’s and Sales Subs to ensure maximum focus and efficiency of time and energy.  Takes action authorized during the Vice President and/or the managers’ absence and uses initiative and judgment to see that matters requiring immediate attention are referred to delegated authority or handled in a manner so as to minimize the effect of the individual’s absence.


Performs assignments where substantial trust, accuracy and confidentiality are required.  Compiles, edits and sorts various confidential, proprietary, and sensitive information (i.e. spreadsheets, financial/salary data, personnel records, budget data). 


Has writing, Microsoft Office and PowerPoint presentation development skills. Understands current technology and helps Corporate Vice President adapt quickly to new applications of technology.


Answers the telephone and handles communication.  Screens incoming calls


Responsible for typing, proofing, composing correspondence, and filing for the Vice President.


Performs tasks necessary to support department functions and other departmental personnel. 


Responsible for development and administration for special projects as assigned to support the Vice President. 


Responsible for maintaining and updating various materials and/or manuals needed in support of Board and/or Executive Compensation processes. Develops electronic versions as needed and supports the Executive SharePoint site.


Handles travel arrangements for the Vice President, including air and ground transportation, lodging, itinerary planning, and expense report creation and submission.


Coordinates arrangements to ensure successful internal and external meetings.  Duties include room reservations, meal selections and reservations, travel arrangements, presentation aids, room setup and decorations, etc.   


Coordinates and maintains effective office procedures and efficient workflows; establishes and maintains harmonious working relationships with superiors, co-workers, customers, clients, and suppliers.


Attends internal departmental meetings.


Trains and supports departmental personnel regarding new computer software and electronic mail system implementation. 


Serves on planning team for special projects. 


Will require travel up to 15%

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university preferred; and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.



Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.



Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.



Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.



Proficient in Word, Excel and Power Point applications.
