Role Summary:

This employment specialist is an integral part in the recruitment life cycle, and training and development of the team.  This position leads the efforts of sourcing top talent utilizing several different avenues to do this, administers and supports the selection process and then continues to sell Pella as they present the offer and follows up with them over their first 60 days.  This employment specialist will also help coordinate and deliver training to new hires, hourly team members, and Exempt staff as needed to meet Corporate requirements and develop needs. 

 Essential job duties and responsibilities for this employment specialist include, but are not limited to:

·         Partners with the Hiring Team to identify workforce needs, job responsibilities, qualifications, and skills.

·         Develops and/or promotes recruitment programs to attract applicants and fill position openings.

·         Extends offers for employment and ensures follow up occurs with candidate. 

·         Identifies, develops, and maintains a network of contacts to help identify and source qualified candidates.

·         Writes and places job advertising in various media.

·         Coordinates participation in, sets up display, and attends job fairs.

·         Develops and maintains contacts with schools, alumni groups, and other public organizations to find and attract applicants.

·         Makes public presentations at schools, organizations, and job fairs regarding the Pella Corporation and the opportunities we have.

·         Works with external recruiters and employment agencies to identify and recruit candidates.

·         Conducts detailed analyses and forecast planning.

·         Understand employment law and oversees immigration strategy and is knowledgeable in the law and how changes might impact our current team members and candidates that we would like to recruit.

·         Understands applicant tracking systems and performs the required data entry to keep our tracking information current.

·         Researches the latest recruiting trends and understands where to find top talent.

·         Organizes on-boarding schedule for new hires, potentially delivering some of the training and follows up with leadership to ensure success of the new hire.

·         Organizes monthly training requirements for the plant, potential delivery of some of the training.

·         Organizes development training needs as determined by our semi-annual talent review.

·         Coordinates all internal movement of team members. 

 Essential job requirements for this employment specialist include, but are not limited to:

·         Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience 

·         Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations

·         Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals

·         Proficient written and oral communication

·         Proficient in Word, Excel, and Power Point

·         Experience in Taleo and Oracle (HCM) is preferred
