Position Summary

As a Digital Marketing Analytics Intern you will be tasked with measuring digital marketing, including social media, is a growing area of focus and helps us determine the level of success of our web properties, digital marketing efforts, and social media campaigns.  Your data collection, reporting, analysis and recommendations will help shape what we do digitally and how we do it.  This requires collaboration with leaders throughout the company, Web Developers, Social Media Strategists, Content Strategists, Project Managers, outside agency partners, etc.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities for the Digital Marketing Analytics Intern include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Report on digital marketing and social media efforts
  • Partner with metrics experts (internal and agency partners) to implement additional data collection
  • Partner with metrics experts (internal and agency partners) to analyze digital marketing and social media efforts and their impact on meaningful business results
  • Contribute to the development and execution of the corporate web analytics strategy to track, report on, and analyze business results
  • Write code to pull necessary data

Familiarity with Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager or similar web analytics tools
Experience or interest in digital marketing and social media campaigns and measurement
Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or similar data visualization tool
Familiarity with R, SAS, SPSS, Python, or other data analysis tools or languages
Familiarity with using APIs to pull data
Experience with regression, decision trees, Naïve Bayes, clustering, and other data analysis techniques
Ability to communicate verbally, in writing, and via presentation
Willingness to learn new skills/tools on the job

At least two years progress toward a bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four-year college or university in a relevant field (business analytics, data science, statistics, econometrics, math, computer science, MIS, etc.)

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical material. Ability to effectively present reports, analysis and recommendations both formally and informally.  

Ability to use tools such as R Studio to model data using regression, k-means clustering, k-nearest neighbor, decision trees, Naïve Bayes, etc. Ability to compute mean, median, mode, standard deviation, percentage change, etc.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of abstract and concrete variables to build a business case or rationale for decisions.

Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook required.  Proficiency working with online monitoring and measurement platforms.
