ESSENTIAL JOB QUALIFCATIONS FOR THE BUSINESS INSIGHTS TEAM LEADER INCLUDE:

  • Expert-level skills in foundational analytics platforms required. Skills in advanced analytics, statistics and/or data warehouse tools a plus. Aptitude in Microsoft Office suite, with strength and effective communication of information skills in Excel and PowerPoint. Understanding of data warehouse solutions, databases, and analytic/statistics packages a plus (Oracle Answers, Power BI, Minitab, R).

  • Experience with advanced analytics such as: machine learning, predictive analytics, and algorithms.

  • High-energy leader who can effectively guide team members through change needed to evolve and amplify Pella’s analytic capabilities.

  • Must be comfortable embracing uncertainty and ambiguity, while evaluating prudent risk and coaching their team through those elements.

  • Bachelor’s degree required, with emphasis in analytics, statistics, mathematics, data science, business, or finance, with sustained successful experience in business environments

  • Advanced degree in analytics, statistics, mathematics or data science, or an MBA with solid experience in analytics-related fields, is preferred.

  • Direct Marketing and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) analytics background and familiarity working with customer, prospect, and 3rd party data

  • In-depth experience performing descriptive and multi-variate statistical analytics (e.g. linear regression, CHAID, etc.) and apply to business needs (e.g. response / targeting forecast models, etc.)

  • In-depth experience creating and managing analytical data sets in potentially sub-optimal data infrastructures and the in-depth experience leveraging statistical software packages (e.g. SAS, JMP, etc.) and other user tools to do so

  • Ability to leverage mainstreamed business intelligence tools (e.g. Cognos, OBIEE, etc.) and environments (e.g. data warehouse with SQL) as needed

  • Ability to direct and partner with IT to continuously improve data management and analytics infrastructures

  • Ability to clearly and concisely simplify and communicate complex concepts, findings, and implications to all levels of the organization (e.g. junior marketing managers, agency and distribution partners, C-level, etc.)

  • Experience leading, coaching, and developing junior team members and advancing their analytic skills.

  • Possess a well-rounded analytics background as an individual contributor as well as an effective leader, either directly or through significant project management. 

  • Functional understanding of core analytics, methodologies, and tools, as well as have a working knowledge of related financial, mathematics and statistic disciplines.

  • Exceptional prioritization and project management skills will be critical.

  • Must demonstrate success as an influential, collaborative communicator – with direct reports, peer managers, internal customers and company leaders. Must be able to communicate insights gained through analysis to business leaders in a way that is straightforward and provides a clear understanding of the insight(s).

  • Must be able to identify, simplify and communicate complex concepts, findings and implications to all levels of the organization to support data-driven decision making.

  • Experience leading a small team demonstrating abilities to execute at a high level, coach and develop team members, collaborate with other leaders and think strategically about business growth.    

  • Must be a bold leader that can guide direct reports, internal customers and business leaders through change and complex business problems.
